Uttar Pradesh: Officials said 15,747 fresh COVID-19 cases were reported in Uttar Pradesh on Friday, increasing the number of infections to 15,96,628, with 312 more fatal deaths.
The number of active cases in the state has decreased by more than 1.17 lakh in the last 13 days. Additional Chief Secretary, Health, Amit Mohan Prasad said that as of April 30, there were about 3.10 lakh active cases and currently the number is 1,93,815.
As many as 1,57,257 patients are in home isolation, he said. While 15,747 fresh cases were reported on the previous day in the state, 26,174 COVID-19 patients were recovered from the disease.
Prasad said that 13,85,855 patients have been cured in Uttar Pradesh so far and the recovery rate is 86.8 per cent.
So far, over 4.41 crore samples have been tested in the state, including more than 2.63 lakh samples tested on Wednesday, he said.
