UP Reports 162 COVID-19 Deaths, 29,754 Fresh Cases

Mumbai: According to a senior official, the death toll of COVID-19 in Uttar Pradesh has increased from 162 to more than 10,000, while 29,754 recent cases have increased the number of infections in the state to over nine lakh.

With more than 14,391 patients being discharged in the last 24 hours, the number of recoveries has increased.

Additional Chief Secretary Amit Mohan Prasad told reporters that a total of 6,75,702 people in the state have managed to get rid of the disease, leaving 2,23,544 active cases so far.

The death toll in the state now stands at 10,159 while the total number of cases is 9,09,405.

Out of the total active cases, 1,76,760 households are in isolation, 4,455 are being treated in private hospitals and the rest are being treated in government hospitals.

Prasad said that more than 3.86 crore samples have been tested so far for COVID-19 in the state, including more than two lakh tests on Monday.

About the ongoing COVID vaccination drive, he said a total of 1,09,34,566 doses were administered to people in the state.
