Uttarakhand Bans Entry Of Domestic & Foreign Tourists To Contain Coronavirus Spread
Mumbai: The Uttarakhand government on Friday banned the entry of domestic and foreign tourists into the state until further orders to stop the spread of coronavirus.
An order issued by Health Secretary Nitesh Jha said that many advisories have been issued in the past to avoid unnecessary travel to people. In keeping with this order, a need was felt to ban the entry of native and foreign tourists so as to prevent the infection of coronavirus.
The order is in the exercise of powers vested in the government under the epidemic disease COVID-19 regulation 2020, it said.
Jha appealed to children under 10 and over 65 to stay home and not venture until 31 March. He said that children and elderly people of tender age are found to be more susceptible to infection.
