We Will Go To Jail For Paths We’ve Chosen: Kejriwal To AAP Workers

Mumbai: Asserting that his party has garnered support for its “work-centric politics,” Delhi Chief Minister and AAP national leader Arvind Kejriwal stated on Sunday that party members should be ready “to go to jail for the paths we have chosen for the public good,” according to news agency PTI.

In his virtual chairing of the National Executive and National Council meeting of the party on Sunday, he said, “In these ten years, the Aam Aadmi Party has risen to third place among 1,350 political parties.”

“If we were not successful and did not do anything good, then none of our party leaders would have gone to jail and today everyone would have been happy with their families,” according to a report by PTI. Kejriwal has been called by the Enforcement Directorate to appear before it on January 3 in relation to the money laundering inquiry pertaining to the Delhi excise policy.

“You will have to go to jail if you give children a good education,” he stated in a conversation with the party workers. You will have to serve time in jail if you give the underprivileged free medical care. Because of the routes we have chosen for the greater good, we will have to do jail time.”

At the National Council meeting, Kejriwal said that the AAP had gained support for its work-centric politics and given the public a true political alternative.

He also praised Bhagwant Mann, the chief minister of Punjab, for the state’s outstanding accomplishment.

AAP To Launch Public Campaign On Jan 4

On January 4, 2024, the day after Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal is scheduled to appear before the ED in a money laundering case pertaining to the “scam” Delhi excise policy, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) will launch a public campaign in support of Kejriwal.

The ‘Main Bhi Kejriwal Jan Samvad’ campaign will be a citywide event in which all ministries, MLAs, and council members in Delhi will participate.

The forthcoming campaign comes after the ‘Main Bhi Kejriwal’ public outreach initiative, which took place from December 1 to December 30. During that campaign, the public was asked to weigh in on whether Kejriwal should quit from government or stay in jail in relation to the liquor policy issue.
