Why Security Of Sidhu Moose Wala Was Reduced, Information Leaked? Asks Punjab & Haryana HC To AAP Govt

Mumbai: The Punjab and Haryana High Court has asked the Bhagwant Mann-led AAP government as to why the security of Punjabi singer Sidhu Moose Wala was downgraded and information leaked.

The High Court has now asked the government to respond by June 2.

Shubhdeep Singh Sidhu, popularly known as Sidhu Moose Wala, was among 424 people whose security was withdrawn by the Punjab Police on a temporary basis on Saturday, a day before his shocking murder in Punjab’s Mansa district.

The AAP government faced heavy criticism from the opposition for a poster announcing the security downgrade on the party’s Twitter handle, which mentions Moose Wala and Akal Takht Jathedar Giani Harpreet Singh while announcing the security downgrade with the caption, “Another attack on VVIP culture in Punjab”.

Punjab Director General of Police VK Bhavra on Sunday said the murder of famous singer Sidhu Moose Wala was the result of an inter-gang rivalry and involved Lawrence Bishnoi and Goldy Brar gangs.

He further said that a Special Investigation Team (SIT) would be formed to probe the matter. In a media statement, the state police chief said Moose Wala’s security was reduced to free personnel for deployment during the anniversary of Operation Blue Star next month.

Meanwhile, Punjab Police has registered an FIR in Mansa police station against unidentified persons under sections 302, 307 and 341 of the Indian Penal Code and sections 25 and 27 of the Arms Act, in City-1.

Canadian gangster Goldy Brar claimed responsibility for the murder of Moose Wala in a Facebook post on Sunday evening. Goldy Brar is a close associate of gang leader Lawrence Bishnoi, who is said to be involved in the singer’s murder.

Sidhu Moose Wala had contested this year’s Punjab assembly election on a Congress ticket from Mansa and was defeated by AAP candidate Vijay Singla.
