Jaishankar told the House that “an extraordinary situation requires an extraordinary response”, informing the House that specific intervention is needed – as in the case of Wuhan in China, the Diamond Princess crew in Japan or now the pilgrims in Iran, the government has taken the necessary action.

“At this time, travel in itself is not recommended as it only heightens risks,” he stressed.

Apart from this, he also urged to be assured and encourage adherence to globally recognized precautions and procedures where communities are quite concerned. “The excessive understanding of the alarm will only be harmful to those who are actually in it,” he told the House.
