Mumbai: In the summer of April, a 108-year-old woman came out to cast her vote in neighbouring Thane district of Maharashtra.

Vithabai Damodar Patil, who was probably one of the oldest voters in the state, used his franchise at a polling booth in Kopri village, which is part of the Thane Lok Sabha constituency.

Talking to reporters after coming out of the polling station, the centenary said that she voted for “good” candidate and keeping the development of his village in mind.

In Bhiwandi, there was a direct contest between the BJP and the Congress, while the main fight between Thane and Kalyan was between the NCP and the Shiv Sena.
