16 NDRF Teams Pre-Positioned In Maharashtra Amid Heavy Rainfall

Mumbai: The NDRF said 16 teams of the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) have been deployed in Maharashtra in the past due to incessant rains.

The NDRF said, “Five teams in Mumbai, four teams in Kolhapur, two teams in Sangli and one team each in Satara, Thane, Palghar, Nagpur, Raigad.”

Meanwhile, various parts of Maharashtra are facing severe waterlogging and flood-like conditions following continuous rains.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Thursday predicted a “generally cloudy sky with heavy rains” in Thane.

IMD has also predicted intense rainfall in Mumbai in the next three hours.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday assured Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray of all possible support regarding the prevailing situation in Mumbai and surrounding areas due to heavy rains.
