16-Year-Old Girl Raped By 4 Men Over 6 Days In B’luru; 6 Arrested

Mumbai: Six people, including two women, have been arrested after a 16-year-old girl was allegedly raped by four men over six days in Bengaluru, police said on Friday. The accused had women laced juice with sedatives and sold the girl to customers for over a week after threatening her.

The two arrested women have been identified as Kalavati (52) resident of Agra and Rajeshwari (50) resident of Bandepalya. Others who have also been arrested include Keshavamurthy (47), a deputy manager of an automobile company in Hosur; Satyaraju (43), a resident of Koramangala; Sharath (38), a resident of Yelahanka and Rafeeq (38) from Begur. They all raped the girl when she was unconscious.

Police said the 16-year-old girl was repeatedly raped for six days. Police have registered cases against the accused persons under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses Act (POCSO), kidnapping, human trafficking, rape, prostitution and death threats.

The victim’s family had come to Bangalore in search of livelihood and settled here. The girl’s parents used to work as labourers. Rajeshwari, who lives in the neighbourhood, used to run a sewing shop and after the school opened, the victim went there to learn sewing.

When the girl was resting in her house, the accused Rajeshwari took her home and made her drink intoxicating juice. When she fainted, the accused Keshavmurthy raped her. When the girl woke up, bloodstains were seen all around. The accused had told her that she had fainted at his house and forced her to take a bath before leaving.

Two days later Rajeshwari asked the victim to come to her house. When the girl refused to come, the accused threatened her and took the other accused to Kalavati’s house. Both the accused threatened her and made the victim entertain other men.

Seeing bloodstains on the daughter’s clothes and Rajeshwari’s reluctance to learn sewing, the girl’s mother became suspicious. On enquiry, his daughter disclosed the incident.

After this, the mother lodged a complaint at the HSR Layout police station. Police have arrested the accused by forming four teams in 36 hours.

Police investigation revealed that the accused Rajeshwari and Kalavati were doing prostitution work for the last seven years. He personally operated and received his clients. Rajeshwari and her friend Kalavati lured the women and girls who came to the sewing shop into prostitution.
