2 Unknown Persons Try To Molest Woman At Mahim Beach; Kill Her Friend

Mumbai: A man was killed while his female acquaintance was wounded after two unknown people attacked them with sharp weapons at Mahim Beach in Mumbai in the early hours of Wednesday.

The woman was immediately rushed to Sion Hospital after the incident and is currently doing well.

According to the woman’s complaint, she and her accomplice had gone to Mahim Chowpatty at midnight on Tuesday. At around 2.30 pm, two unidentified people reached Chowpatty near her and tried to rape the woman. When both tried to resist, they were attacked with sharp weapons.

Mahim police reached the spot and recovered the body of the youth. Mid-Day reported that he was taken to Sion Hospital, where he was declared brought dead.

An official of the Mahim police station said that both have injury marks on their bodies and police are on the lookout for the accused involved in the alleged crime.

The official also said that “the medical report does not suggest any sexual assault.” After the assault, the victim was taken to Sion Hospital, where the police got the information, the officer said.

Police have charged unknown people with murder. The parallel investigation has been started by Crime Branch Unit 5.
