25 Cong MLAs In Touch With AAP But We Don’t Want Their Garbage: Kejriwal In Punjab

Mumbai: Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal on Tuesday said that 25 Congress MLAs in Punjab are in touch with his party but he is unwilling to accept “their garbage” but added that he is unwilling to ‘accept Congress’ junk’ into AAP.

The AAP convenor laughed off a question on whether Navjot Singh Sidhu is one of the MLAs in touch with the AAP Punjab unit.

“Many from Congress are in touch with us. But we do not want to take their junk. I assure you that if we start taking their junk, we will have 25 MLAs and two-three MPs from Congress by today evening,” he said.

Addressing a press conference ahead of the 2022 Punjab Assembly elections, Arvind Kejriwal refrained from revealing the AAP’s chief ministerial face in the Punjab elections, but clarified that he was ‘not the CM candidate in Punjab’.

Criticizing the Congress party as well as the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD), Kejriwal said that the present government of Punjab is crying that the state’s treasury is empty. “But who emptied those coffers? You are in power for the last 15 years. Kejriwal knows how to fill the state treasury,” he said.

Appealing to the population of the state to give a chance to AAP, Kejriwal said –  “Ek mauka AAP ko deke dekho (Give AAP a chance)… We will bring about a change in Punjab, the way we transformed Delhi. These elections are very important. We appeal to everyone to vote for the Aam Aadmi Party,” he said.

Kejriwal said that Sidhu is raising important issues, but is being suppressed by Congress high command.

“He was suppressed even by Captain (Amarinder Singh),” he said. Slamming the current Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi, Kejriwal said that Channi is making false promises. “He promised free electricity, he promised to eradicate corruption. That has not happened. I am determined to give every free facility that a minister enjoys, to a common man in the state,” he promised.
