7-Day Home Quarantine, RT-PCR Must For Passengers Arriving In Mumbai From UAE

Mumbai: The civic body of Mumbai has made it mandatory for all passengers, who are residents, arriving from the UAE to undergo seven-day home quarantine and an RT-PCR test on arrival.

In a late-night statement, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) said that the latest guidelines will be effective from midnight of December 30.

“All international passengers flying from UAE including Dubai and who are residents of Mumbai will have to undergo mandatory 7 days home quarantine after reaching Mumbai,” the statement said. “RT-PCR will be mandatory for all such passengers on arrival.

Mumbai on Wednesday reported 53 of the 85 new cases of omicron reported across the state. With this, Mumbai’s Omron tally reached 137, while the state-wide figure reached 252.

At 2510, the financial capital of the country recorded a huge increase in the number of Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours. The tally is 1,333, over 80 per cent of the daily cases reported in Mumbai a day earlier.
