8 Killed, 20 Injured As 2 Double-Decker Buses Collide On UP’s Purvanchal Expressway

Mumbai: Eight people were killed while nearly 20 were injured after the collision of two double-decker buses took place on Uttar Pradesh’s Purvanchal expressway on Monday.

The accident happened when the double-decker bus collided with another bus coming from behind. The injured were admitted to Haidergarh Community Health Center and the seriously injured were sent to Trauma Center in Lucknow.

The ill-fated buses are plying from Sitamarhi and Supaul towards Delhi.

This fatal accident happened in Narendrapur Madraha village of Lonikatra police station area of ​​Barabanki.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has expressed grief over the accident on Purvanchal Expressway.   He said that the administration has asked the officials and doctors to provide all possible treatment to the injured.

The Purvanchal Expressway is 341 km long and is considered a flagship project of the Yogi Adityanath government in Uttar Pradesh.
