91 Railway Hospitals Have Been Added To Ayushman Bharat Yojana – Piyush Goyal

Mumbai: The minister of Railways and commerce and industry Piyush Goyal said that the Ayushman Bharat Yojana is developing for the health of poor people who cannot afford the modern technology of treatment.

He said there will be the free treatment for the 50 crore citizen as per the Ayushmam Bharat Yojana and the 91 hospitals of railway have been added to this Yojana. Along with providing better treatment to the poor patients in this hospital equipped with modern facilities, the railway is also contributing to the healthcare of the citizens of the country, he appreciates.

Ayushman Bharat Yojana or Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PMJAY) or National Health Protection Scheme is a centrally sponsored scheme launched in 2018, under the Ayushman Bharat Mission of MoHFW in India.

The scheme aims at making interventions in primary, secondary and tertiary care systems, covering both preventive and promotive health, to address healthcare holistically. It is an umbrella of two major health initiatives namely, Health and Wellness centres and National Health Protection Scheme (NHPS).
