First Time Ever Government Declares To Issue Rs 20 Coin

Mumbai: On Wednesday dated 6 March, the Ministry of Finance declares to issue the new Rs 20 Coin which will be in the structure of 12 polygons which is called as ‘Dodecagon’.

Other coins are usually in the shape of a circle but the new coins won’t be. Till now there is only note of Rs 20 but with the announcement by Ministry, people will also have coins of 20. However, exact to circulate over the country is not mentioned yet.

The government has also declared to issue coins in shapes of Prototypes for Rs 1, Rs 2, Rs 5 and Rs 10.
The new coin will be weighty in collating to other coins in the market as it weighs 8.5 grams.

The outer ring of the new coin will have the Ashoka Pillar with the designated ‘Satyamev Jayate’ carve below it in Hindi, on the left edge it will have a periphery with ‘Bharat’ in Hindi and India in English.

Rupee will be conveyed above the denominational value on the contrast to the outer side. This will be homogenous to the Rs 10 coin which is currently in the market.

Alike to Rs 10 coin, the new coin will also be of 27mm, two-toned.

The top right and bottom right will be border lined with the word of Rs 20 in Hindi and English. The mining year will also be shown in the centre of the left border.

The coin will also be signalized with grains fetching Agriculture superiority in the country.
