Mumbai: A real estate agent in Mahim was abducted and released after his family paid a ransom of 10 lakh rupees. The Mahim police are on the lookout for a gang of three.
According to the police, the incident took place on Monday at around 8 am when the victim was on his way to his office in Bandra. An SUV stopped his car. They threatened the driver with a knife, abducted the victim and took two lakh rupees in the car with them. The abductors were at an advantage. Due to heavy rains, nothing could be seen.

The victim was released within a few hours of paying the ransom. The family approached the police only after two days of the incident, on Wednesday.
“A case of kidnapping and blackmailing has been registered against unknown persons. However, tracing them is becoming difficult, since it was raining heavily that day and the faces of the accused are not clearly visible in the CCTV cameras on the road. We are still making all efforts to trace them,” said a senior police officer.
