Drug-Sex Racket That Targeted Schoolgirls Through Instagram Busted In Kerala

Mumbai: A drug-and-sex racket that targeted school-going girls through Instagram has been busted in Kerala’s Malappuram. After befriending the girls on Instagram, the accused used to drug and abuse them sexually.

Recently, an NGO named Childline in the Mallapuram district of Kerala busted the sex racket. The girl was addicted to drugs and was raped several times by several people. The racketeers have been found to target schoolgirls by befriending them via Instagram.

According to a report in The Hindu, after the girl was rescued, the girl told the police that she was first given ganja, then hash oil and cocaine. He also identified seven people involved in the racket.

The fact that he was intoxicated and raped at his home for months while his family was sleeping was shocking to the authorities. The victim is currently in the custody of the Child Welfare Committee (CWC).

“This is not a simple POCSO case. It is a case of extreme seriousness demanding serious and immediate intervention. I was surprised to see such a crime. Before detecting such an incident in Malappuram. . The racket traps girls through Instagram, makes them addicts to drugs, and abuses them sexually,” CWC chairman Shajesh Bhaskar said.

The police have registered seven cases and arrested one suspect. According to Childline officials, the girl’s case was just the tip of the iceberg and more girls have fallen and are afraid to come forward.
