UP: Woman Burnt, Dumped On Highway By Husband In Orai

Orai: In a shocking incident in Orai area of ​​the Jalaun district of Uttar Pradesh on Tuesday morning, a woman was found lying in a critically scorched condition on the highway. The incident caused panic in the area.

Later the woman was admitted to Jhansi District Hospital. Police said that the woman was married to youth of different religions about three months ago.

The victim has accused her husband of setting the fire. According to the report of Hindi daily Amar Ujala, the accused is absconding.

Panic spread on Tuesday morning after a 23-year-old girl was found burnt in front of a Dhaba on Ajnara Highway. The deceased has been identified as Uma, a resident of the Sesa village of Poonch police station area of ​​Jhansi.

The victim was found with severe burns and the police immediately rushed her to the hospital.

According to ASP Rakesh Singh, the victim had a court marriage with a person named Arif, a resident of Bajaria, Orai. After that, she started living with her husband.

Police said the condition of the woman is critical and she cannot be questioned in detail. In her magisterial statement, the woman has accused the husband of setting the fire.

Police said that they have started searching for the accused. The woman was lying unattended on the highway for two and a half hours. The woman was helped by passersby only when police arrived

The ASP said why Uma was set on fire could be probed only after a detailed investigation. Police said they have also called the family of the accused for questioning. The police also brought Dhaba’s owner to a police station for questioning.
