Mumbai: A 19-year-old man was arrested for allegedly raping and threatening a 15-year-old girl in Thane. The accused, Sameer Khan, used to stalk the girl, who was also his neighbour, and tried to speak to her multiple times, police said.
Khan constrained his entrance into the girl*s house on August 27 when her folks were away for work and constrained himself on her. He escaped when the victim*s sister raised a caution, a Navghar police official said.
Police enrolled a First Information Report (FIR) under segments 373 (Buying minor for motivations behind prostitution and so on) and 376-1 (committing assault on a lady under sixteen years old) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses Act against Khan.
