Aditya Thackeray Requests CM Fadnavis To Keep Non-Residential Areas Open For New Year Celebration

Mumbai: Recently Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis received the requesting letter from Yuva President Aditya Thackeray requesting to keep open all the non-residential areas in cities like Mumbai, Thane, Navi Mumbai and Pune for New Year celebration.

Aditya Thackeray said in a letter to CM Fadnavis that a proposal of the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) for Mumbai, which was passed for the first time in 2013, was approved by the Police Commissioner in 2015 and the law by the state in 2017 is waiting for Home Department approval. The proposal “allows non-residential areas to be open 24/7 in Mumbai and other cities”.


The letter further added, “What is legal during the day, cannot be illegal at night.” Aaditya Thackeray further said that legal establishments in malls and mills compound open 24/7 will be boon for Maharashtra.
