Afghan Nationals Chant ‘Biden You Betrayed Us’ Outside The White House

Mumbai: Afghan nationals gathered outside the White House and chanted against US President Joe Biden after Afghanistan’s capital Kabul fell to the Taliban.

A video shared by ANI showed them chanting, “Biden you betrayed us, Biden you are responsible,” outside the White House.

The protesters declared the Taliban’s actions back home and said that the citizens of Afghanistan did not deserve it. “Death to the Taliban” was another slogan echoed outside President Biden’s official residence.

“Joe Biden, who ordered the withdrawal of US troops from Afghanistan, has yet to issue an official statement or post on his social media handle regarding the acute crisis in the war-torn country. He is on vacation at the Camp David Presidential Retreat in Maryland. White House advisers said they were discussing how the president should address the situation in Afghanistan.

Women of Afghanistan will not get freedom. We don’t want to go back to burqa which is not freedom,” Farzana Hafiz, who lives in Northern Virginia, told ANI.

I have family and I am dying every minute. I haven’t slept since last night. I couldn’t sleep. This is a tragedy for my people. I can’t sleep,” she said crying.

Hafiza says her 21-year-old nephew was trying to come out of Afghanistan. “He was to get his visa and he would then come to us, but now we don’t know what lies in his future,” she told ANI.

Meanwhile, former US President Donald Trump has blamed his successor for the crisis in Afghanistan and demanded his resignation from the top post. Issuing a statement on Sunday, Trump said it was time for Joe Biden to step down “for what he has allowed to happen in Afghanistan, along with the tremendous surge in Covid-19, the Border catastrophe, the destruction of energy Independence, and our crippled economy.”
