Hamas Commander Who Led October 7 Attack Killed, Says Israel Army

Mumbai: The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) on Saturday said it killed Ali Qadi, the Hamas commander who led the October 7 attacks in Israel. “All Hamas terrorists will meet the same fate,” IDF wrote on X.

According to the IDF, a drone attack killed Ali Qadhi or Qadi, a company commander for the Nukhba unit. The Military Intelligence Directorate and the Shin Bet security agency conducted intensive intelligence collection before the operation.

“Ali Qadi led the inhumane, barbaric October 7 massacre of civilians in Israel. We just eliminated him. All Hamas terrorists will meet the same fate,” said the IDF on Twitter.

The IDF notes that Qadhi was previously detained by Israeli authorities in 2005 as a result of his participation in the kidnapping and murder of Israeli civilians. After that, as part of the 2011 Gilad Shalit prisoner exchange, he was given to the Gaza Strip.

“Based on precise IDF and ISA intelligence, IAF aircraft killed Ali Qadi, a company commander of the Hamas “Nukhba” commando force, who led the terror attack in Israeli communities near the Gaza Strip last weekend,” said the Israeli Air Force.

On the Gaza border, Israel has gathered its soldiers and tanks in preparation for the ground assault. To remove Hamas militants from Gaza, Israeli forces conducted a raid there earlier last night.

Merad Abu Merad, who served as the chief of the Hamas aerial system, and Ali Qadi, a company commander in a commando squad, were both successfully eliminated, according to the Israeli military.
