Mumbai: According to US President Joe Biden, the Palestinian militant organization Hamas, which assaulted Israel last week and killed more than 1,000 innocent civilians, is worse than al-Qaeda.
“The attack grows more horrible as we learn more about it. At least 27 Americans were among the more than 1,000 innocent lives sacrificed, Biden noted at the outset of his speech on Philadelphia’s hydrogen hubs. These guys make — they make al-Qaeda look pure. They’re pure evil. Like I said from the beginning, the United States, make no mistake about it, stands with Israel. The United States stands with Israel,” Biden said.
Both Secretary of State Antony Blinken and Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin are currently in Israel, according to the President.
“We are ensuring that Israel has the tools necessary to repel these attacks and protect itself. Addressing the humanitarian issue in Gaza urgently is another one of my top priorities, he added.
According to Biden, his staff is working throughout the region under his command, including direct communication with the governments of Israel, Egypt, Jordan, and other Arab countries, as well as the United Nations, to increase support and have humanitarian repercussions for the Hamas attack on Israel.

“We must never lose sight of the truth that the vast majority of Palestinians were not involved in Hamas, its horrifying crimes, or the agony that followed. This morning, I spoke with the family members of all those Americans who are still unaccounted for, on a Zoom call, for about an hour and 10, 15 minutes,” he said.
“They are in anguish because they don’t know the whereabouts of their sons, daughters, spouses, wives, and kids. You know, it hurts so badly. I reaffirmed to them that I will personally do everything in my power to locate every missing American and bring them home, he said.
“In close collaboration with Israel and our friends in the region, we are working around the clock to obtain the release of Americans held by Hamas, said Biden at the ceremony. We’re not going to stop until we bring them home,” he added.
Hamas continues to employ strategies like hiding out in hospitals, mosques, and schools while carrying out its operations through tunnels under residential structures.
In what is now being referred to as an unprecedented attack, armed Hamas militants stationed in the Gaza Strip broke through the Israeli security fence on Saturday and poured into Israel by land, air, and sea. Since then, the attack has left more than 1,300 people dead in Israel while more than 1,530 people have died in Gaza as a result of Israeli counter-airstrikes. Approximately 1,500 Hamas fighters were allegedly killed inside Israel, according to Israel.
