Mumbai : On Sunday, AIMIM leader Akbaruddin Owasi has been elected for floor leader of the party in Telangana Legislative Assembly.
Under the leadership of party president Asaduddin Owasi AIMIM’s executive committee meeting was held at party headquarters in Darussalam were the decision took place.
Owaisi has been elected as the Member of the Legislative Assembly for Chandrayanguttas constituency on five consecutive occasions, in 1999, 2004, 2009 and 2014 ,2018.
In 2004, Akbaruddin became the floor leader of MIM in the Assembly upon Asaduddin’s election to Lok Sabha from Hyderabad. He was re-elected in 2009 and lead the seven-member MIM in the House. Akbaruddin Owaisi won his fourth consecutive victory in Assembly polls from Chandrayangutta assembly in 2014.
Recently TRS registered its huge victory in Telangana is assembly election with 88 seats I the 119-member Assembly, defeating Congress at second place who achieved 19 seats, followed by AIMIM which won seven seats.
