All Above The Age Of 45 To Be Vaccinated From April 1, Says Javadekar

Mumbai: Union Minister Prakash Javadekar on Tuesday announced that all people above the age of 45 will be able to get the Kovid-19 vaccine from April 1.

Announcing the government’s decision, Javadekar appealed to all eligible people to get themselves registered with the coronavirus vaccine. The Union Minister assured the country that there is no shortage of COVID vaccine supplements in the country.

Javadekar while addressing a press conference said, “We have enough vaccine. All eligible people should be registered as it is a shield against COVID-19. We appeal all above 45+ should get vaccinated.”

He further added that as per the advice by scientists and world scientist bodies, the second dose vaccines can be administered between the fourth and eighth week, particularly for Covishield.

India has approved Covaxin developed by Bharat Biotech and Covishield from Oxford-AstraZeneca and Serum Institute of India (SII).

The Union Health Ministry stated that 4,84,94,594 corona vaccine doses have been administered through 7,84,612 sessions, as per the provisional report as of 7 am today.

The Union Cabinet’s decision to allow people above 45 years of age to get vaccinated comes days after Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a meeting with several chief ministers over the rising cases of coronavirus in the country.
