Amit Shah Appreciates Work Of Doctors, Assures Them Of Security

Mumbai: Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Wednesday interacted with doctors of the Indian Medical Association (IMA) through video conferencing and praised his good work.
He also assured them of security and appealed to them not to make a symbolic protest against him.

The Indian Medical Association has announced that the government will celebrate April 23 as Black Day if it fails to implement the Central Law on Violence Against Doctors and Hospitals.

“If the government fails to implement a central law on violence against doctors and hospitals even after the White Alert, the IMA will declare April 23 as Black Day. Our legitimate needs for safe workplaces have to be met. Abuse and violence Should be stopped immediately. White Alert to the nation – All doctors and hospitals to light a candle at 9 pm on 22 April, as protest and vigil,” states a notice issued by the association.

This comes after the outbreak of the COVID-19 crisis followed by several incidents of attacks and stigma from medical staff and doctors from across the country.

Six inter-ministerial central teams (IMCTs) have been formed in the first day by the Center to assess the situation regarding lockdown violations, social discrimination norms and attack on doctors and submit a report to the central government.
