Bengal Extends Curbs Till July 15; Allows Gyms, Salons To Open At 50% Capacity

WB: The West Bengal government on Monday extended restrictions across the state till July 15 in view of COVID-19. The new relaxations will come into effect from July 1 to 7.

Addressing a press conference, CM Banerjee announced that the coronavirus restrictions will remain in force till July 15, however, her government has decided to give more relaxations.

Salons, beauty parlours with 50 per cent seating capacity were allowed to open from 11 am to 6 pm, provided the employees were vaccinated.

Gyms with 50 per cent capacity will be allowed. Gyms will also be allowed to operate from 11 am to 6 pm.

Social gatherings like marriage ceremonies with a maximum of 50 people will be allowed from July 1.

Last rites will not be allowed with more than 20 persons at a time.

West Bengal CM announced that private and corporate offices are allowed to operate from 10 am to 4 pm with 50 per cent working capacity.

As per the new order, all markets and markets are allowed to open from 6:00 am to 12 noon. The vegetable market will remain open from 6 am to 12 noon.

Banks are allowed to function between 10 am and 2 pm.

All schools, colleges, universities, polytechnics, Anganwadi centres and other educational and educational institutions will remain closed.

Public buses will run with 50 per cent capacity, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee announced.

All social, cultural, educational, entertainment-related gatherings, groups and gatherings will continue to be banned.

The West Bengal CM cautioned people against becoming complacent against the virus and urged people to continue to follow COVID protocols and wear masks and maintaining social distance.
