BJP’s Neo-Hindutva Followers Trying To Create ‘Before Partition’ Situation: Shiv Sena

Mumbai: Shiv Sena criticised the JNU campus incident on Ram Navmi and said that BJP’s neo-Hindutva followers are trying to create a “before partition” situation in the country.

Taking a jibe at Maharashtra Navnirman Sena’s important statement on playing ‘Hanuman Chalisa’ in front of mosques, Shiv Sena mouthpiece Saamana said, “It will be a matter of happiness if the Chinese army retreats after reciting Hanuman Chalisa in front of the mosques of Mumbai.”

Saamana alleged that the saffron party is “spreading lies” by alleging violence in the university due to Left students’ protest against Ram Navami puja.

Further claiming that the clash in JNU took place over alleged non-vegetarian food being served on the campus on Ram Navami, the editorial said, “The neo-Hinduism of the BJP is trying to create a ‘before partition’ situation in the country.”

“The violence in JNU took place over non-vegetarian food, but BJP people are defaming the name of Lord Ram. Ram is being dragged into controversy by saying that the controversy created by the Left opposing Ram Navami Puja in the university is a lie,” the editorial said.

“The Hindutva of the Bharatiya Janata Party is selfish and hollow. From creating religious enmity to instigating riots to win elections, these people have a hand,” the party said.

Saamna further alleged that the philosophy of Hindutvaa is unimportant for the BJP. The party poured milk on ‘Hindutva’ for electoral gains, it further alleged.

“Religious and political issues should not be raised in schools and colleges, but at present the work of digging up such issues is being done by BJP-sponsored neo-Hindutva workers,” the party alleged in the editorial.
The mouthpiece further states that Muslim businessmen selling temple worship materials are examples of tolerance.
