BSF Driver Tested Positive For COVID-19; Had Escorted IMCT’s Members In WB

Mumbai: One of the BSF drivers who escorted MHA’s Inter-Ministerial Central Team tested positive for COVID-19 in West Bengal, said officials on Monday.

As per the official statement, the driver was quarantined on March 30th, as he showed symptoms for the novel coronavirus.

He was tested positive on Sunday and is been admitted in the isolation ward of a Kolkata hospital.

‘The driver did not come in contact with any member of the Central team,’ said BSF official.

He also added, that they are tracing who came into contact with the driver and all will be quarantined.

IMCT’s convoy had visited several districts of West Bengal to observe the situation due to the novel coronavirus.

The state government has been accused of hiding the actual facts and figures of the infected.
