BSP Supremo Mayawati Countered ECI For Not Removing Pragya Thakur’s Candidature

Mumbai: Bahujan Samaj Party President, Mayawati took a jibe and hit out at Election Commission Of India (ECI) for not cancelling Pragya Thakur’s nomination from Bhopal for her comments on Babiri Masjid. Pragya Thakur is an accused in Malegaon Blast case.

The BJP leader, Pragya Thakur said, “I am not denying that I had not gone there to destruct structure of Babri Masjid in Ayodhya. No one stops me from making a grand temple of Ram Ji. He is my Ram Ji. This nation is Ram. Ram is a nation.”

Mayawati wrote on her Twitter account, “Candidate from Bhopal and accuse of Malegaon blast states that she is fighting a crusade. This is the real face of BJP/RSS which is now revealing in front of everyone. Why ECI is only sending notices to candidates and not cancelling her candidature?”

In next tweet, she hit out at Prime Minister Narendra Modi, “Beside criticism from Media, if Elect Commission of India is not taking any action than it is a matter of great concern for India’s democracy and the responsibility of this downfall is none other than PM Narendra Modi.”

In the year 1578, Babri Masjid was built by first Mughal Emperor Babur was destructed by a group of Hindus in 1992 stating that the Mosque was built after destructing the Ram temple.

Bhopal will go voting on May 12. Results will be declared on May 23.
