CBSE Board Exams 2021 Cancelled For Class 10, Postponed For Class 12

Mumbai: Board Exams for Class 10th have been cancelled and 12th exams have been postponed, said the Union Ministry of Education on Wednesday after a high-level meeting chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

CBSE Class XIIth which was to be held from May 4th to June, 14th, 2021 has been postponed and will be held at a later date.

Board Exams for Class 10th cancelled & 12th postponed. Results of Class 10th will be prepared on the basis of an objective criterion to be developed by the Board. Class 12th exams will be held later, the situation will be reviewed on 1st June by the Board, Ministry of education informed.

“Students of Class 10 to be promoted on the basis of internal assessment. If a student is not satisfied with the assessment then he/she can appear for the examination once the situation (COVID19) is normal,” Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank to ANI.

However, students across the country demanded the cancellation of board exams amid growing coronavirus cases in the country.

More than 2 lakh students had signed an online petition demanding cancellation of board exams and the hashtag board cancel or exam was also trending on Twitter for 2 weeks.

The demand to cancel CBSE Board exams 2021 gained more ground with more politicians and celebrities joining the students in view of an unprecedented rise in COVID-19 cases in the country.
