Taron went missing on January 18. While China initially denied reports of his alleged abduction, the Chinese People’s Liberation Army (PLA) confirmed that a missing boy was found at the border.

On 20 January, the Chinese side also sought details from the Indian side to establish the identity of the missing Arunachali youth. Subsequently, the Indian Army shared Miram Taron’s personal details to confirm his identity.

On Tuesday, the PLA also confirmed that Taron would be returned to the Indian side. In fact, Indian and Chinese armies held hotline discussions regarding the missing boy and decided to finalize the time and place for his repatriation.

After Taron’s disappearance near the Line of Actual Control (LAC) on 19 January, the Indian Army immediately contacted the Chinese side. The Indian side had sought help from the PLA in locating and returning the person.
