Cong Manifesto Released, Rahul Calls It Voice Of People

Mumbai: Congress on Tuesday released its manifesto for its upcoming Lok Sabha elections with its President Rahul Gandhi and called it “the voice of the people”.

Senior party leader P. Chidambaram said that “wealth and welfare” is the main subject of the manifesto.

Rahul Gandhi was included by other top party leaders, including former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Sonia Gandhi, as the opposition party unveiled its manifesto.

Chidambaram said that the real issues in the country are female security between the unemployment, the farmer’s crisis and others and accused the BJP of trying to get the story for the hyper-nationalism on the ruling BJP.

Singh said that the objective of the manifesto is to create foresight to lead the country towards a forward-looking and inclusive economy and politics.

The Congress chief said that if his party is elected in power, then his government will spend six per cent of gross domestic product on education.

In its manifesto, pitching towards ‘Ujjwal Bharat’ Congress president promised to work on employment, industry infrastructure, cities urbanisation, and urban policy, rural development, informal and organised sector, agriculture, farmers and farm labour, economic policy, NYAY scheme, taxation and tax reforms, banking and financial sector, science, technology and innovation, national security, foreign policy, internal security, border security, ex-servicemen, Central Armed Police Force, anti-corruption and many others.
