MP’s Fromer Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan To Address Election Rallies In Chhattisgarh On April 3

Mumbai: Former Madhya Pradesh chief minister and senior BJP leader Shivraj Singh Chauhan will address two election rallies in Chhattisgarh’s Naxal-affected Bastar Lok Sabha constituency on 3 April.

BJP spokesman Sukma and Kondagaon districts will go to the polls in the state of Bastar alone in the first phase of elections to be held on April 11.

He will reach Raipur airport at around 10.30 in the morning on Wednesday and will leave for Sukma in a helicopter.

After addressing a rally in Sukma, he will go to Kondagaon where he will address another public meeting around 1 PM.

In the Scheduled Tribes (ST) reserved Bastar seat, Congress has fielded its current legislator Deepak Badge. The BJP has refused to give a ticket to its current MP Dinesh Kashyap and has expressed hope of retaining his seat on former legislator Baburam Kashyap.

In the Bastar Lok Sabha constituency, there are eight assembly seats, including seven reserved for ST category. In the last year’s assembly elections, except for Dantewada, Congress won seven Assembly seats there.

Polling for 11 Lok Sabha seats in Chhattisgarh will be held in three phases on April 11, 18 and April 23 and results will be announced on May 23.
