Congress President Rahul Gandhi To File Nomination From Wayanad In Kerala Today
Mumbai: Congress President will by flying to Wayanad today to file his nomination for Lok Sabha seat.
As per reports by 11 am he will be at Wayanad, after which he will fly towards Nagpur in Maharashtra to address a rally.
Due to the death of Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee working president M I Shanavas last year, the seat fell vacant by which state party unit requested to Gandhi to contest from Wayanad for Lok Sabha Election.
In addition to Wayanad, he will contest from Amethi Congress stronghold in Uttar Pradesh, where he will face Union Minister Smriti Irani.
Congress is contesting on 16 out of the 20 Lok Sabha seats in Kerala leaving four seats for its allies- two for Indian Union Muslim League and one each for Kerala Congress and Socialist Party.
