Congress Released It First List Of 84 Candidates For Haryana Assembly Election

Mumbai: Indian National Congress on Wednesday released its first list of 84 candidates for upcoming by-polls in Haryana.

Former Chief Minister Bhupendra Hooda will contest from his Garhi Sampla-Kiloi seat. Congress chief spokesperson Randeep Surjewala is set to contest from his Kaithal assembly seat.

Meanwhile, RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav’s son-in-law and former Haryana minister Dr. Ajay Yadav’s Chiranjeevi Rao will contest from Rewari on a Congress party ticket.

The Congress has also fielded late Chief Minister Bhajan Lal’s son. Former deputy CM Chander Mohan will represent the Panchkula seat for the party, while his brother Kuldeep Vishnoi will contest from Adampur in Hisar.

Former Vidhan Sabha Speaker Kuldeep Sharma will represent the Ganaur assembly seat, while former minister Geeta Bhukkal has been elected from Jhajjar reserved constituency. Former minister Anand Singh Dangi has been elected from his traditional Maham constituency.

In a surprising move, Congress chief Selja and former state unit president Ashok Tanwar have not been mentioned on the list.

Haryana to go under polls on the 21st of October and results will be declared on 24th October.

The term of the present Haryana Assembly ends on November 2.
