Congress Releases List Of Six Candidates For Delhi Lok Sabha Seat
Mumbai: Congress party released a list of six candidates for Delhi Lok Sabha seats on Monday. Former CM and Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee (DPCC) chief Sheela Dikshit has been fielded from North East Delhi parliamentary constituency. She will fight against Aam Aadmi Party’s Dilip Pandey and BJP Delhi unit chief Manoj Tiwari.
Other candidates in the list are JP Agarwal (Chandni Chowk), Arvinder Singh Lovely (East Delhi), Rajesh Lelothia (North-West Delhi) and Mahabal Mishra (West Delhi). The party has yet to finalize a candidate for South Delhi seat.
Prior to this, Delhi’s Deputy CM Manish Sisodia had lashed out at Congress Party for not cooperating with the party in Delhi, Punjab and Haryana. Addressing a press conference, Sisodia said that the Congress Party “ruined your time” in the name of discussion on the coalition in the Lok Sabha elections in 2019. “There is no intention of defeating the pair of Modi-Shah on the 18 seats of the Old Old Party.
The party has fielded senior Congress leader Ajay Maken in the New Delhi Lok Sabha seat to take AAP’s, Brajesh Goyal.
Last week, Congress President Rahul Gandhi tweeted that the grand old party was ready to give Arvind Kejriwal’s AAP four seats in Delhi to ensure BJP victory.
