COVID-19 Cases Climb To 76 In Haryana

Mumbai: The number of COVID-19 cases in Haryana rose to 76 on Sunday, with six fresh cases reported in Nuh and Gurugram districts.

According to the afternoon bulletin of the state health department, there are 61 active cases in the state.

It said that in the latest cases, five were reported from Nonah and one from Gurugram. After the death of a 67-year-old man in Ambala district, PGIMER, Haryana, has died due to COVID so far.

The Bulletin said that out of a total of 76 cases, four are Sri Lankan citizens and one is from Nepal while 20 are from other states of India.

Of the total positive cases, at least 23 were stated to be Tablighi Jamaat members.

Director-General of Police Manoj Yadav said on Friday that more than 1,300 Tablighi Jamaat members, including 107 foreigners, had come to Haryana before the lockdown came into force on 13 March.

All have been set aside, the DGP said that five FIRs have been registered against the foreigners under the relevant provisions of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and Foreigners Act, among the members of the Tablighi Jamaat for various violations.
