COVID19: AIIMS Director Randeep Guleria Urges People To Stay Alert During This Festive Season

Mumbai: The All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Director Dr Randeep Guleria on Friday urged people to remain alert and vigilant during the upcoming festive season. This appeal was made to the public in view of the spread of the COVID-19 epidemic in the country.

While talking to the media, AIIMS Director Dr Randeep Guleria said, “During the festive season, we have to remain alert and vigilant.”

“If we remain careful for the next 6-8 weeks, then we will be able to see a decline in the overall number of Covid-19 cases,” he added.

It is to be noted that state governments are issuing advisories and before that, it should be noted that states are issuing guidelines and before Durga Puja, Dussehra, Diwali and other festivals, there is no possibility of possible spread of coronavirus. to stop the spread.

Earlier in the day, India recorded 26,727 new coronavirus infections, taking the total number of Covid-19 cases to 3,37,66,707, while active cases came down to 2,75,224, the lowest in 196 days.

The death toll rose to 4,48,339 with 277 fresh deaths. Active cases comprise 0.82 per cent of the total infections, the lowest since March 2020, while the national COVID-19 recovery rate was recorded at 97.86 per cent, the highest since March 2020.
