Dalit Woman Allegedly Gang-Raped In Rajasthan

Mumbai: A Dalit woman was allegedly gang-raped in Rajasthan’s Dholpur district. The police gave this information on Thursday. Also Read: 7-Year-Old Girl Allegedly Raped In Uttar Pradesh

The accused have been identified as Lalu Thakur, Dhan Singh Thakur, Vipin Thakur, Mohit Thakur, Sachin Thakur and Lokendra Singh Thakur.

On Tuesday, when the victim was returning home from the farm with her husband and children, the accused allegedly stopped and thrashed the couple. Police said her husband fled with a country-made pistol to save himself.

Later, the accused allegedly gang-raped the woman at gunpoint in front of her children, she mentioned in her statement to the police.

Police said an FIR has been registered at Kanchanpur police station under sections 376-D (gang rape) of the Indian Penal Code and the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, 1989.

He said that the accused and the victim are residents of the same village.

“The case is being investigated. No arrest has been made so far,” the Circle officer of Dholpur (rural) Vijay Kumar Singh said.
