Defence Minister Rajnath Singh Meets The Pilot Of Fighter Jet Crashed In Goa

Mumbai: Defence minister Rajnath Singh meets to the pilot of the fighter jet which crashed in Goa during take-off.

A MiG-29K fighter aircraft crashed in South Goa’s Dabolim on Saturday soon after it took off for a training mission, Indian Navy said. Both the pilots managed to eject on time and are safe. It was a trainer version of fighter jet which got fire in the engine. The name of the pilots is Captain M Sheokhand and Lt Commander Deepak Yadav.

According to the sources of Goa airport, the aircraft was crashed at the 12 noon. The aircraft was flying from ashore in Goa. There were a bird hit and fire on the right engine was observed. The aircraft crashed in an open and safe area. No casualties reported, according to Indian Navy.

In a tweet, the defence minister Rajnath Singh says that he met both the pilot. He also shares the feeling of satisfaction as they managed to eject safely from aircraft.

“Spoke to the pilots, Capt Mrigank and Deepak Yadav of the MiG-29K which crashed after the take-off from Goa today. It is a matter of great satisfaction that they managed to eject in time and both of them are safe. I pray for their good health and well-being.” He tweeted.
