Deployment Of Army In J-K On The Basis Of Internal Security Situation: MHA

Mumbai: According to the reports, the Home Ministry has been informed that the deployment of paramilitary forces in Jammu and Kashmir was done on the basis of security situation and rotation requirements, and such things are not discussed in the public sector.

According to sources, the ministry said that 100 companies (10,000 personnel) of Central forces were ordered to deploy in the state about a week ago and they are in the process of reaching their destination.

PTI quoted sources saying that “On the basis of the internal security situation, assessment of training requirements, for the restoration of central forces and recruitment, induction and de-induction of paramilitary forces is a continuous and dynamic process.”

The response from the Home Ministry has come on Thursday as per the reports that 28,000 additional soldiers are in the process of deployment in Jammu and Kashmir, which is currently under President’s rule.

Speculation is also rife that there may be a plan to remove the Center’s constitution with Article 35A, which gives special powers to residents of the state in government jobs and land.

On Thursday, National Conference Chairman Farooq Abdullah, former Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and a member of the party MP met Prime Minister Narendra Modi and urged them not to take any step which could disrupt the law and order in Jammu and Kashmir.

They also urged Modi to facilitate holding of assembly election in the state by year-end.
