Don’t Take Democracy For Granted, PM Narendra Modi

Mumbai: Reminding the Emergency PM Narendra Modi urged them not to take democracy “for granted”, saying in day-to-day life, it is difficult to savour the joy of democratic rights, unless they are snatched away.

In day-to-day life, it is difficult to stop the enjoyment of democratic rights, unless they are removed. During the Emergency, every citizen of the country started to realize that with him he had been snatched away if he had been snatched away, then he had never been enjoyed by that person, sometimes, he had to face a painful internal pain, “he said.

The Prime Minister reminded the people that there is a need for a constitution for smooth governance of the social system. “Laws and regulations are necessary, rights and duties should be part of the proper discourse,” he said.

Referring to recently concluded Lok Sabha elections, he said that 61 crores out of 91 crore voters exercised their franchise.

“If you leave China, the number of people who vote in India is more than the population of any other country in the world, the number of people voting in the 2019 Lok Sabha election is almost double that of the entire population of America. The total number of voters in India is more than the entire population of Europe, “said in his address.

The Prime Minister used the opportunity to ask people to read more and more books at a time when everything is available using “Google Guru”.

He said that he likes books and does not take bouquets as a gift and mentions the collections of Munshi Premchand’s stories which he has recently visited again.
