Modi Breaks Silence Over Ongoing Water Crisis In India, Urged People Through Mann Ki Baat

Mumbai: Breaking the silence on Water Crisis, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday, in his radio programme Mann ki Baat urged all Indians, including eminent people from all walks of life to create awareness on water conservation.

Giving greater emphasis on traditional methods of water conservation, the Prime Minister appealed to all citizens to share knowledge on this subject.

“If you know about any individuals or NGOs working on water, do share about them,” he said.

The Prime Minister accepted the efforts made by the people of the country in the preservation of water. He said, “Drainage lines are being repaired in Punjab. This effort will get rid of the problem of waterfowl. The life of the people of the village is changing with the construction of a water tank in Thimmipalli of Telangana. There has been a major change in the construction of small ponds in the fields at Kabbirdham in Rajasthan … ”

“There is no definitive way to conserve water. In different parts, different ways can be adopted but the purpose is the same – to protect every drop of water, “said PM Modi.

In his address, PM Modi did not give any explanation in his address that Modi wrote a letter to the village heads about the importance of water conservation and how to take steps.

Modi acknowledged that the water crisis in the country is a widespread problem. Therefore, keeping in view this, a new water power ministry has been set up in the country, Modi said. “All of this will allow quick decisions on water issues.”
