EC Announces Five States Election Dates, Mizoram, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Telangana and Chhattisgarh
Mumbai : In the recent development election commission today announced the dates for upcoming states elections. The single phase election includes Mizoram , Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Telangana whereas Chhatisgarh will be held in two phase.
On 12th and 20th of November Chhattisgarh election will took place, while Mizoram and Madhya Pradesh will be on the 28th November. Elections for Rajasthan and Telangana will be held on the 7th of December.
Election Commissioner (CEC) O P Rawat announced in the Press Conference, that the all the five states election results wil be declared on 11th of Dcember 2018.
Chief Election Commissioner OP Rawat also stated that “Accessible Election” is the theme for the upcoming state elections in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Mizoram, Chhattisgarh.
‘The model Code Of Conduct’ has come into effect in all states with the comminssion announcement. On 12th of November first stage elections will be held in 18 assembly constituencies in Chhattisgarh, in the second phase, the election in 72 constituencies will be held on November 20.
Chief Election Commissioner OP Rawat also said that the commission has suggested certain changes in the affidavit of the candidates who are contesting the polls.

The tenure of the Madhya Pradesh 230-member House expires on January 7, 2019. Mizoram’s 50-member House expires on December 15, 2018. The 200-member Rajasthan House expires on January 20, 2019. Chhattisgarh’s Assembly, comprising 90 members, ends on January 5, 2019.
Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao recently dissolved the House to avoid a possible clubbing of Assembly polls with the Lok Sabha elections.

Further ECI stated that the voter assistance kiosk to be set up at all booths during the assembly elections in all the states. With regard to EVM and VVPAT, the ECI chairman said that all the machines being used are latest Mark III and have been produced at BEL. Mock polls will be conducted before the start of polls.
