Five To Be Booked For Killing A Man In Kalyan

Mumbai: A group of five men killed a man on Monday night outside Kalyan station, suspecting him to be a thief.

The group has been identified using the CCTV footage of that area.

According to Mahatma Phule police, they found a body with hands and legs tied with a rope near Mahalakshmi hotel near Kalyan station.

An Aadhaar card found in the victim’s pocket helped the police identify him as Jongol Lohra, a resident of Jharkhand.

On scanning the footage, the police first identified two suspects as Sandesh Jadhav and Raju Zibrya and detained them. Later on, the police detained three others and are ascertaining their role in the murder.

The police said Lohra had allegedly pushed a woman in the market, and the suspects taking him for a thief allegedly tied him up with a rope and beat him to death.

The Mahatma Phule police said they are trying to contact the relatives of deceased to hand them over his body. If necessary a team will visit his native place in Jharkhand.
