Mumbai: All-rounder Krunal Pandya has been removed as Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) vice-captain. He has been replaced as vice-captain by wicketkeeper-batter Nicholas Pooran, the franchise announced on Thursday.

Pooran scored 358 runs in IPL 2023 for LSG at a strike rate of 172.95. LSG will play their IPL 2024 opener against RR on March 24.

Rahul handed over the vice-captain’s jersey with the number 29 on the back to Pooran at an event on Wednesday.

“KL Rahul (C) Nicholas Pooran (VC). This season feels special already,” LSG announced on social media.
