Gujarat Govt Announces Night Curfew In All Cities From April 28

Mumbai: In view of the alarming increase in COVID-19 cases and deaths, the Gujarat government on Tuesday announced night curfew in all 29 cities of the state and banned public places, ceremonies, functions, markets etc.

According to the Gujarat Chief Minister’s Office (CMO), curfew will be imposed in all cities of Gujarat every night starting at 8 pm and ending at 6 am. It will come into effect from April 28 and will continue till May 5, 2021.

The curfew will be now imposed on other cities of Himmatnagar, Palanpur, Navsari, Valsad, Porbandar, Botad, Viramgam, Chhota Udaipur and Veraval.

Meanwhile, malls, shopping complexes, cinema halls, auditoriums, gyms, swimming pools, water parks, public parks, salons, spas and other recreational activities will remain closed in all 29 cities. All APMCs will be closed, only APMCs associated with vegetables and fruits can be continued, said the CMO.

It was also announced that public access to religious sites across the state would be discontinued. Only administrators and priests will be able to worship. Public bus transportation will continue throughout the state with 50% capacity. A maximum of 50 people is allowed at weddings and 20 people at funerals.

All industries, manufacturing units, factories and construction activities will continue in these 29 cities. All medical and paramedical services will remain the same. All the restaurants in these 29 cities will remain closed and only take-off services can be continued.

All necessary services will continue in these 6 major cities during these restrictions. Grocery stores, vegetable shops, fruit shops, medical stores, dairies, bakeries will be allowed to operate, CMO added.
