Mumbai: England batter Jason Roy, who was bought by Gujarat Titans for ₹2 crores in IPL mega auction, has reportedly pulled out of IPL 2022 citing bio bubble fatigue.

This right-handed batsman was bought by Gujarat Titans for Rs 2 crore. Roy has already pulled out of the IPL. In the 13th edition of the IPL, the batsman was bought by the Delhi Capitals group for Rs 1.5 crore, but he chose not to participate in the tournament.

The 2022 edition of the IPL will be a 10-team one, as two new IPL franchises, Lucknow Super Giants and Gujarat Titans, will join the fray.

Jason Roy last appeared in the 2022 edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL). The 31-year-old was in fine form throughout the tournament, scoring 303 runs in just 6 innings at an average of 50.50. Roy also scored a century and 2 fifties in the tournament.

In his IPL career, Roy has played 13 matches and scored 329 runs at an average of 29.91 and a strike rate of 129.02. The right-handed batsman has also scored 2 fifties in his IPL career.

The 2022 edition of IPL is scheduled to start on 26 March 2022. Chennai Super Kings (CSK) will take on two-time IPL winners Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the opening match of the tournament. The tournament will conclude on 29 May 2022.

The 2022 edition of IPL will be played in the state of Maharashtra, with matches in Mumbai and Pune.

Chennai Super Kings emerged as the winners of the 2021 IPL season and defeated Kolkata Knight Riders by 27 runs in the summit clash of the competition in Dubai.
