Indian Pacer Mohammed Shami To Miss ICC T20 World Cup 2024
Mumbai: Mohammed Shami, who hasn’t played for his country since the ODI World Cup last year because of an ankle ailment, will probably make his return in the home series against Bangladesh, which starts in September, according to BCCI secretary Jay Shah.
This implies that the speedster will not be able to compete in the T20 World Cup, which will be held in the USA and the West Indies starting in June.
“Shami is back in India after his surgery. Shami will probably make his comeback for the home series versus Bangladesh. Shah stated, “KL Rahul needed an injection. He is at the NCA and has started rehab.”
When the Indian seamer revealed that he had undergone heel surgery two weeks prior, even Prime Minister Narendra Modi wished the seamen a swift recovery.
“Wishing you a speedy recovery and good health. I’m confident you’ll overcome this injury with the courage that is so integral to you,” Prime Minister Narendra Modi wrote on X.
